Who we are

Modelo is made by Dotio Inc, a company registered in Delaware, United States.

These terms cover the website at modelo.finance and the app at app.modelo.finance. By creating an account or using either, you agree to them. If you use Modelo for a company, you agree on its behalf.

What Modelo is

Modelo is a financial agent. You import your bank statements, card exports, wallets and broker files into a workspace, and Modelo organises them and answers questions about them.

Modelo is not a bank, a broker, an accountant or a financial adviser. It never holds or moves money. What the agent says is information drawn from your own data, not advice. Check the numbers before you act on them.

Your account

You sign in with your email address. Keep that inbox safe, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You are responsible for what happens in your account and for the people you invite to your workspaces.

You must be 18 or older to use Modelo.

Your data

Your financial data is yours. Modelo stores it in Supabase, either in a workspace hosted by us or in a Supabase project you own. When you bring your own project, Modelo reads from it and keeps no copy.

We never sell your data and never use it to train AI models. You can export it at any time, and you can delete your account and its data from Settings.

The agent and AI providers

When you ask the agent a question, the parts of your data it needs are sent to an AI provider to produce the answer. With Modelo’s credits, that provider is Anthropic or OpenAI, under our agreements with them. With your own API key, your data goes directly to your provider under your agreement with them.

AI answers can be wrong. Read them as a well-informed summary, not as a fact-checked report.

Plans, credits and billing

Modelo is sold as monthly or yearly plans. Each plan includes a number of AI credits per month, which renew on your billing date and do not carry over. Prices are in euros and shown on the pricing page.

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund partial periods unless the law where you live requires it. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email.

Acceptable use

Use Modelo only for your own finances or those of the household or company you are authorised to manage. Do not try to access other people’s workspaces, overload the service, reverse engineer it, or use it to break the law.

Services we rely on

Modelo runs on services from other companies. They process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments:

• Supabase: database, authentication and file storage for hosted workspaces.
• Amazon Web Services: the servers behind Supabase.
• Cloudflare: serves the website and the app, and protects them.
• Anthropic: runs the agent when you use Modelo’s credits with a Claude model.
• OpenAI: runs the agent when you use Modelo’s credits with an OpenAI model.
• Resend: sends the emails Modelo sends you.
• Stripe: takes payments for plans; Modelo never sees your card number.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Modelo up, but we cannot promise it will never be down. We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue Modelo, we will give you at least 30 days to export your data.

No warranty and limits on liability

Modelo is provided as it is. We do not promise that it is free of errors or that every figure it shows is correct. As far as the law allows, Dotio Inc is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or financial decisions made on the basis of what Modelo shows. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.

Law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without affecting the consumer rights you have where you live.

We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Modelo after that means you accept the new terms.
