Privacy policy

Who we are

Modelo is made by Dotio Inc, a company registered in Delaware, United States. We are the data controller for the website and for accounts in the app.

What this covers

This policy covers the website at modelo.finance and the app at app.modelo.finance. It explains what we collect, why, where it lives and what you can ask of us.

The website

The website has no accounts, no advertising trackers and no analytics scripts. We do not sell personal information or build advertising profiles.

Cloudflare serves the site and protects it. To do that it processes technical data such as your IP address, the pages you request, timestamps and browser details, under its own policy. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site up and secure.

Cookies and browser storage

The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It keeps two settings in your browser’s local storage: whether you chose Personal or Business, and whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. They are never sent to us and stay until you clear your site data.

Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell people from bots. The app sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.

The app

To use the app you create an account with your email address. We keep that address, your plan and billing status, the workspaces you belong to, and how many AI credits you have used. Stripe takes payments; your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

Your financial data, the statements, exports and wallet addresses you import and everything Modelo derives from them, lives in Supabase. In a hosted workspace that is a database we run for you. In a workspace on your own Supabase project it is yours alone: Modelo reads from it when you use the app and keeps no copy.

When you ask the agent a question, the parts of your data it needs are sent to the AI provider that answers it. With Modelo’s credits that is Anthropic or OpenAI, and under our agreements they do not use your data to train their models. With your own API key, your data goes directly to your provider under your agreement with them.

Who processes data for us

These companies process data on our behalf. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and its own security commitments.

Email

We email you sign-in codes, receipts and notices about your account, and the daily pulse if you turn it on. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.

How long we keep data

Your account and workspace data stay while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete its data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices. Backups are overwritten within 30 days after that. Data in your own Supabase project is never ours to delete.

Your rights

You can see, export, correct and delete your data from Settings at any time. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or another place with privacy laws, you also have the right to ask us what we hold about you, to object to some processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

Security

Data travels encrypted and is stored encrypted. Access to hosted databases is limited to the people who run Modelo and logged. Full account numbers are never shown to the agent.

Children

Modelo is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. When the change matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
